JLL is seeking a Maintenance Mechanical with emphasis on HVAC for a 1st shift opening. The candidate must have certificates for refrigerant type 1 and 2. Responsibilities include completing repairs and maintenance on commercial HVAC systems such as chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, air handlers, automation/controls systems, and associated electrical and pneumatic systems using industry standard tools and in compliance with all codes, laws, and regulations. The role involves performing preventive maintenance and repair service work on HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems to maintain properties in peak operational condition. The candidate should have knowledge of customer service principles, prepare and submit parts purchase requests, and be a self-starter. Additional duties include working on generators, exhaust fans, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, motors, dock doors, dock plates/levelers, dock heaters, assisting other mechanics and electricians, maintaining tools and supplies, keeping logs and reports, and general office and minor grounds maintenance. Safety knowledge is critical, including safe work practices, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and proper PPE use. The candidate will also evaluate, train, and coach other engineers and technicians. Education required is a GED with 7 years of HVAC facility-related work experience or comparable experience. Skills include computer proficiency, communication, and customer service. Certifications required are Universal Technician for CFC’s (or within 90 days of employment), EPA Universal Certification, and R410a certification. The position is on-site in East Lansing and Lansing, MI.
